WE LOVE OUR ROHR COMMUNITY
We were so happy to see so many of our sixth graders at our promotion car parade! We can’t begin to tell you how much joy it brought to us all! We hope it brought joy to our Lions too! Our entire staff wishes you all a fun and rejuvenating summer! Students may continue to use Smarty Ants, Achieve 3000, Raz-Kids, and i-Ready over the summer break to keep reading and learning.
If students borrowed a school laptop and are returning to Rohr, they it can keep over the summer to access our learning resources. We are not yet sure when we will return to school for the 2020-2021 school year, but we will notify you here as soon as we know. Please follow our blog www.rohrlions.org for updates on when we will start the 2020-2021 school year! If you need anything at all over the break, please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please stay safe and healthy!
PHONE LINES DOWN STARTING JUNE 8
Over the summer, we will be updating our phone system. Part of the process includes disconnecting the phone lines for a few weeks. The phone system will be down from June 8-July 8, but once our service resumes the phone number will continue to be (619)420-5533. If you have any questions during this time you can email the office staff or myself until June 16 when our office closes for the summer. Our emails are provided below.
- Erin Williamson: email@example.com
- Norma Beltran (Secretary): firstname.lastname@example.org
- Georgina Huezo (Attendance): email@example.com
A MESSAGE FROM COACH G
Congratulations to all our Rohr students for winning the National Field Day competition against Loma Verde! We were able to post 20 more videos than the wildcats to secure the win. This also means Mrs. Williamson had to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge because more than 100 videos were posted on Flipgrid! A grand applause to our Lions and great job staying active throughout Distance Learning. Click on the videos below to hear the field day winner and to see Mrs. Williamson get drenched!
Many of you have been asking when yearbooks will be distributed. When we return to school all yearbooks will be distributed to students. If you have any questions regarding the yearbook orders, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The district will continue to provide meals for families through the month of June. School sites providing meal distribution can be found here.
Additionally, families who are currently eligible to receive meals from schools can apply for additional food benefits by clicking on this link. Applications are open and all families can apply. The application closes on June 30th.
SUMMER READING IDEAS
As you look for titles to read with your children over the summer, please consider adding some of these titles to your reading list: 31 Children’s Books to support conversations on race, racism, and resistance and 19 Books to help children find hope and strength in stressful times.
