Coffee with the Principal & ELAC Meeting

Image result for coffee with the principalThis Friday we will be having Coffee with the Principal and our ELAC meeting at 8:30 a.m in room 206.  We will be holding elections for our ELAC representatives.

Are you a Parent of an English Learner? We invite you to get involved in Image result for english language advisory committeeELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) and learn how to support your child’s language development. This is a great way to meet other parents in our school community! Come join our first ELAC meeting of this school year!

After-school Art Club

Calling all budding artists in fourth, fifth and sixth grades, join Mrs. Landre on Mondays after school for Art Club. Pick up a permission slip in the office or  complete the permission slip provided below.

Thank you for attending our Back to School Night sessions on Thursday. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to support your child and their education.  Thank you to our outstanding teachers for preparing and sharing wonderful presentations with our parents.  It is through our partnership with you, that we will be able to know how best to support your child.


We invite you to attend the first PTA General Meeting of the 2019-20 school year on Thursday, August 8 at 3:15 pm in room 206.   This will be one of only three general PTA meetings scheduled this school year, so your engagement at this time is very much appreciated! We sure hope you can join us. Questions?  Please stop by the PTA office.

Please drop off your Boxtops at our school library to buy books for our library.  You can sign-up here to start raising money for our school.   With each Box Top turned it, we will receive 10 cent for Rohr.


imagesAre you interested in getting more involved at Rohr?  We need parents to serve on our School Site Council and English Learner Advisory Committee.  If you are interested in making decisions about our school budget and Single Plan for Student Achievement, please consider getting involved.  We will be sending home election ballots this week.

Box Tops are Here

Boxtops for Education are now being collected throughout the entire school year. Please drop off your Boxtops at our school library to buy books for our library.

Simply go to the sign up page and type “Rohr Elementary”, click on the button and follow the simple instructions. 

Once you join and are logged you can raise money for library books for Rohr Elementary:

  • There are 100’s of household items (General Mills, Ziploc, Nature Valley, Paper Mate, Hefty, Scott, and many more) that you purchase from the local grocery store, sometimes up to a few times a week, that are included in the Box Tops program. Please cut off the entire coupon and have your child bring them into school. Week of July 29

Thank you for a wonderful first week of the school year!  It was such a pleasure to welcome all our Lions Back to School!  We are grateful for our teachers and staff for all the effort they put into preparing for an amazing school year.



We are excited to announce that Rohr has partnered with the San Diego Symphony to be Image result for string orchestra clipart kidsable to offer our students the opportunity to be a part of our very own string orchestra.  A parent meeting will be held on Monday, July 29th at 3:00 p.m. in room 601.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please email our music teacher Mrs. Fisher at judy.fisher@cvesd.org. Students will need to be able to attend rehearsals twice a week and instruments are provided for the year.

  • 6:00– 6:15 pm – Information in the auditorium
    6:20 – 6:40 pm – Classroom Presentation (Session 1)
  • 6:45 – 7:05 pm – Classroom Presentation (Session 2) **  Repeated session
  • 7:10 pm-6th Grade Camp Informational Meeting in Room 402

**  Both sessions will be the same information

Also, the Rohr English Learner Advisory Committee needs Parent Representatives to represent Rohr’s English Learner parents at the monthly District Advisory Council/District English Learner Advisory Committee (DAC/DELAC) meetings, held on Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00 at the CVESD district office.

Week of July 22

First Day of School

Image result for back to schoolThe first day of school is Monday, July 22 at 8:15 a.m., and is a minimum day with early dismissal. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m., 1st-3rd grade students will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m. and 4th-6th grade students will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. Students will report to the blacktop for a short ROAR Rally on the first day of classes. Class lists are posted outside the office.

Kindergarten has a special schedule the first week of school.  On  Monday, kindergarten orientation is from  8:15-10:30 (parents leave at 10:30 a.m., students will leave at 12:00 p.m.) Tuesday-Friday this week kindergarten students will follow a Mminimum days schedule with a 12:00 p.m. dismissal.  The week of July 29, kindergarten students will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m., and the week of August 5 students will follow regular dismissal at 2:30 p.m.

Back to School Night

We will be having our Back to School Night on August 1, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. We strongly encourage everyone to attend as important information will be shared.  It is also a great time to meet your child’s teacher and visit the classrooms.  The meeting will begin in the auditorium, followed by our classroom sessions.

Parents Involvement


The Rohr School Site Council (SSC) and English Learner Advisory Committee are seeking nominations for parent members. We nee two parent representative to represent Rohr’s English Learner parents at the monthly District Advisory Council/District English Learner Advisory Committee (DAC/DELAC) meetings, held on Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00 at the CVESD district office. Please note, we do not allow visitors and volunteers during the first 2 weeks of school. Visitors and volunteers may begin coming on campus on August 5.
