Parent Survey

Please take a few minutes to complete this district parent survey.  The information you provide will help guide us as we begin to create a plan for reopening schools.  Your voice is important to us and we want to hear your input!

6th Grade Promotion

class of 2020We are excited to celebrate all of the hard work and success of our 6th grade students.  On Tuesday, June 2nd we will be sending out a pre-recorded promotion ceremony on our blog and via email.  Then, on Wednesday, June 3rd, we will have a drive-thru celebration for all 6th grade students through our Rohr parking lot from 1-2:00 p.m.  Families can pick-up certificates at designated tables and wave from the car to all our staff in the parking lot.

Last Day of Classes

Wednesday, June 3 is the last day of the school year. We will send information about 2020-2021 as it becomes available.

FINAL Student Materials Drop-Off/Pick-Up

There will be one final chance to drop-off any library books and pick-up any materials not yet picked up by students on Thursday, June 4th form 2:30-4:00 p.m.  At this time, we will also be offering a tune-up of instruments for our Opus students.  Mrs. Fisher will be reaching out to families individually for more details.

Farewell to Mrs. Enjambre

It is with great sadness that I share that our longtime kindergarten teacher Mrs. Carmen How To Say Farewell To A Retiring Employee With A PartyEnjambre will be retiring this year.  She has dedicated her entire teaching career to the  Rohr community and we have been so fortunate to have her impact so manychildren. We wish Mrs. Enjambre the best of luck on the next chapter in her life,  she will be greatly missed by the entire community!

Office Opens

Kindergarten Registration

Many kindergarten students have still not registered for the new school year. If you know a child who will turn 5 by Sept. 1st, please help us spread the word. The time to register is now. Registration can be completed online at cvesd.org or by calling the school office 619-420-5533

Summer Learning Access

Learning doesn’t stop when school is out! Teachers are on vacation and will not be teaching, but all CVESD students will have access to school and district online learning programs through July 31st. This includes their current class in Teams, and includes current 6th graders. The PARENT HELP LINE is available to assist with technology needs. 619-409-6638, M-F 8:00-5:00.

Visual and Performing Arts - Chula Vista Elementary School DistrictOur VAPA teachers in the district have been working hard to create a You Tube channel that all students can enjoy.  There are amazing videos and activities!  Students will even be able to enjoy these videos throughout the summer!  Be sure to subscribe!

HomeDistrict PE teachers are also hard at work to provide opportunities for all students.  Be sure to subscribe to the CVESD PE You Tube channel and stay fit and healthy all summer long!

Week of May 25

Monday, May 25th is Memorial Day! We will not have Distance Learning on Monday.  Instead, we would love for you to take time to honor all those who have lost their lives serving our country.  Perhaps you can create some chalk art or hang a sign in your window at home.  Also, enjoy some fresh air and get active with your family! Have a great long weekend!

YMCA ELP STRETCH staff have created Distance Fun Learning activities for you and your Free produce distributed Tuesdays at YMCA of Austin locations ...family to enjoy at home.  There are 3 different categories of activities: Physical Activity, Academic Enrichment, and Social Emotional Learning.  Activities are also categorized by age group.  Your STRETCH Staff miss you and we hope you enjoy!  Let us know what activities you love most!

6th Grade Promotion

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony - Belvidere School District 100Is your child in 6th grade? Are you wondering how will we celebrate sending off our students to middle school? The sixth grade teachers have been planning a wonderful video promotion ceremony and drive-thru celebration at Rohr.  Details regarding the events will be send out to all 6th grade families.  We are very excited to celebrate the hard work and success of our oldest lion cubs.

RED RIBBON WEEK

imagesWe are participating in Red Ribbon Week this week.  The week begins on Monday, October 21st.   Throughout the week, students and staff will receive red ribbons and pins . Each day this week will be a different spirit day.  Please read the snapshot of the week below to be informed on the spirit days this week or you can find it on the blog post here.

Red Ribbon Week is observed nationally as a time for schools and communities to come together in the fight against drug abuse. Please click on RED RIBBON WEEK for more information.

COMPUTERS 2 KIDS

Image result for computers 2 kidsAre you in need of a computer or tablet?  We will be having the Computers 2 Kid and Cox Communication at Rohr this Thursday, October 24 from 3:45 p.m.-5:15 p.m.  This event sells refurbished computers and tablets at an affordable price.  Click here to find more information and to apply today!

Costume Parade

costumeparadeThis Friday we will be having our annual Costume Parade to “Scare Drugs Away”, please review the guidelines for your child’s costume.  A flyer was also sent home with your child last week. Students will change into their regular clothes after the parade.

  • No costumes depicting violence
  • No props that resemble or could act as weapons
  • No bare midriffs
  • Masks are permitted for the parade walk only. However, Masks that depict violence or blood are NOT allowed.
  • If your child’s costume involves face paint or make-up they need to bring something to get it off (baby wipes) as there are NO paper towels in the bathrooms. Parents you are welcome to stay and help your child take it off after the parade as well.

Trick or Trunk/October Nights

There are 4 days left to purchase tickets at a boodiscounted price. Don’t miss out! We are very excited that our Trick or Trunk event is scheduled for Friday, October 25th from 4:00 until 5pm followed by October Nights from 5:00 p.m-7:30 p.m.  Additional information for Trick or Trunk can be found here and the price of tickets for the October Nights can be found here. 

ELAC MEETING

ellOur next English Language Advisory Committee meeting is next Friday, November 1st at 8:30 a.m. in room 206. We will be reviewing our current summative data and discussing how we can support our students in the classroom and at home. Please join us for this informative session, breakfast will be provided.

School Site Council

School Site Council elections were held last week, the committee members will be displayed on the glass case next to office on Monday morning. Our first meeting will be held this week. It is scheduled for Friday, August 12 at 7:15 a.m., however pending the new councils available times the meeting time and date could change.
